A big thank you to all those who have contributed time, made donations and attended many village events before, during and since the building of the new Village Community Hall; especially those who clean, tidy, place flowers and replace books often without any reward, other than being a member of the village community.
Current News
Wetheral Village Fete was a great day enjoyed by many. Over £2000 was raised. Very many thanks to Hilary Keers and her team. A wonderful finale and testament to all the work and organisation Hilary has put in over many years.
It was great to see so many families at the Wetheral Family Party, dancing to the lively music of The Dukes......at times there were three generations of families on the floor at one time. Money raised from this event will go towards a new family Petanque/Boules pitch on the Wetheral Playing Field.
Following the automation of the entrance doors, the WCA are pleased to say that the sound quality in the main Hall has now been improved with additional baffles. Another grant-funded project is the replacement of the ill-fitting fire doors in the Main Hall as well as the small Hall/playgroup room. This will happen soon!
As from the 1st August, the Community Hall bar has been outsourced and will now be run by the licensee Julie Musgrove of ‘The Greyhound’, Cotehill.
